FROM THE VINE TO THE GLASS

« The earth does not belong to us, we are only passing through... »

This sentence, often said by Gayraud family to the next generation, shows their agri-environmental ethic. From the soil work to the green harvest, the philosophy is to preserve the living balance in which the vines draw all the minerals they need.

THE CHATEAU LAMARTINE

Le Château Lamartine cultive 37 hectares de vignes situés sur les terrasses de la vallée du Lot.

The greatest care is always given to the vineyard:

  • Le travail du sol garantit l’équilibre vivant dans lequel les ceps puisent les minéraux nécessaires à la complexité des grands vins
  • Leaf removal and selection of the best bunches on the vines allow the regularity of a moderate yield necessary for the concentration of great wines.

THE TERROIRS

60% of 3rd terrace Clay limestone terroir – Elegant and complex wines

30% of 4th terrace
Clay – Fresh and fine wines

10% of 2nd terrace
Clay silica – Fleshy and round wines

The temperate climate with Oceanic and Mediterranean influences guarantees the perfect maturity.

THE GRAPE VARIETIES

THE CELLAR

A modern, functional, thermo-regulated tool adapted to the traditional methods of wine making: Careful sorting of the grapes, punch of the cap.

The barrels cellar houses more than 100 French oak barrels from 7 different barrel makers. They are stored to raise the wines among the best of the appellation.

A TEAM WHO THINK HIGH-QUALITY

« "The best things that happen in a company are not the result of one man's work. It's the work of a whole team."

Lamartine doit sa régularité aux humains derrière les bouteilles, une équipe fidèle qui n’a pour seul objectif la qualité des vins et du service.

THE VINO COLLECTION

"Our terroirs are our divine creators.
Each terroir gives its proper expression, its typicity. Our hands are just shaping the grapes, our palates control the ageing in the goal to get the purest expression from the terroir."
